If you received an email that you have downloaded Read AI (Read.ai) on your FSM owned device, please remove it immediately. This tool is not permitted under Feinberg policy and Northwestern University guidance and needs to be removed immediately. If you are affiliated with NMHC, it is similarly against NMHC policy to use READ.ai.
Use of this tool introduces unacceptable risk to university managed systems and regulated research due to its invasive data collection practices. By downloading, you have agreed to their terms, which allows Read.ai to use your data without appropriate restrictions. It also does not properly capture consent of those individuals’ attending meetings. Tools that perform passive surveillance and behavioral analytics on end users without consent or institutional controls are prohibited.
If you require a tool to capture meeting notes, approved alternatives include Microsoft Copilot or Premium Teams.
Please remove Read.ai from your device ASAP and contact fsmhelp@northwestern.edu if you have concerns.
